Last August, Adriana Beal and I started an email exchange about the need for a resource that helped business analysts at all levels apply the career-minded philosophy in How to Start a Business Analyst Career. Today, I’m excited to announce that a solution to this problem, The Promotable Business Analyst, is now available.

What started as a reworking of How to Start a Business Analyst Career ended up as a much more comprehensive resource for the junior, intermediate, or senior level business analyst. While a few sections pull heavily from the first book, they are rewritten to help analysts at all levels in their career progression. And over 100 pages of new content has been created between myself and Adriana, along with 20 worksheets and templates to use as you apply the learning in advancing your career.

Stop on over and read a bit more about The Promotable Business Analyst book series. From now until July 15, the entire 3-part collection is available at a 60% discount over list price. This offer will not be repeated for the life of the book, so if you are interested, this week is the time to commit!  As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.

While on this journey, I was privileged to interview over 20 business analysts about their career experiences, a research methodology that I recommend in the book for career-minded business analysts. These interviews had a deep impact on me personally and professionally. The eBook collection is truly a better resource for each of their contributions.

I’d like to thank each of them publicly for sharing their stories and advice.

With this eBook, Laura went beyond anything I had imagined when I suggested she created a resource for business analysts who needed help with career development.

I receive messages from BAs from all around the world looking for advice on how to take their career to the next level, and it would have been impossible to give them the answers they needed in a short email. Thank you, Laura, for making the help they need available via this eBook collection, and to everyone who collaborated with this project, which I’m sure will be instrumental on the career progression of many business analysts.

I have reviewed the material in this collection and I am quite impressed. The content is of value to a a prospective BA or to a practicing BA professional at any level. I highly recommend this as a resource for individual BAs to buy and use. Few people define a career path for themselves instead they end up jumping from job to job without any clear direction in mind. This material is an opportunity to take control of your career and make sure that you are mindful about your choices for professional development and employment. I also recommend that IIBA chapters consider using this material for events that cover career topics or as raffle prizes. Congratulations, Laura.
