You can be a leader, your title is irrelevant

Don Frederiksen recently published an excellent article titled “It’s a Shared Leadership World” on the BA Collective.  A core concept is that leadership does not only come from the top of organizations but flows through organizations.  Leadership is distributed, not hierarchical. Anyone can be a leader.  Don’t ask for permission and definitely don’t wait to be invited.  Step up, own your attitude, and just get started.

And here’s a quote that will find a prominent place in my inspirational quote book:

“When that challenge arises, simply raise your hand and say, “I own it.” Once you find a challenge that matches where you are and matches your interests and passions, take ownership, become accountable, and do your best to tackle the challenge. Your leadership will simply show in the process.”

I encourage you to take the time and read the entire article.
