We often don’t hear the words “outsourcing” and “opportunity” in the same sentence, but today’s story pulls them together perfectly. Teboho Lebakeng found a great career opportunity as his team was being outsourced. In my experience, these things happen to the people who consistently demonstrate their ability to achieve results and, most importantly, step up.
Teboho Lebakeng started his career in billing systems support at a telecommunications company after graduating with a degree in IT. He then joined the banking industry as a business solutions developer where his focus was on developing business applications.
Later on, the bank decided to outsource most of the business application development work and his responsibilities shifted to business analysis. Teboho started his BA career by joining the IIBA LinkedIn group and the Start a BA Career LinkedIn group. He found the articles helpful in getting a successful start in his new role.

I think outsourcing and opportunity often go hand in hand. With the Industrial Age came the machines, which many feared would replace manual labor. Opportunity came in the form of machine maintenance jobs. The key is looking for the opportunity rather than cowering in fear.
